How to judge any MCA settlement company, ourselves included

We are not the cheapest and we are not the most expensive, and like every legitimate company in this space, we charge for our work. No one does this for free. (Our own MCA debt relief program page lays out exactly how our process and pricing work.) We are not currently BBB-accredited. Accreditation is a paid membership, separate from the letter rating the BBB assigns, and we would rather put our energy into keeping that rating strong and resolving any complaint promptly and fairly. And when it serves the client, we will hold our own fees to fund a settlement first; we have waited months to be paid so a business owner could get settled. We will not win a comparison against every firm on every measure, and we will not pretend to. We put the facts out here, ours and our competitors’, so you can decide who to trust with your business.

When you compare firms, ask three questions, and hold us to them too: Do real customers rate them well, and how do they handle complaints? Does the money actually reach the creditors, or does it disappear into fees? And will the firm ever set its own fee aside to get you settled?

How we scored and ranked the firms

Each firm gets a composite score from 0 to 5, built from five public-record inputs at the disclosed weights below. This is a transparent read of the public record, not a promise about which firm will get you the best result.

Verified customer reviews carry the most weight, both the rating and the number of reviews behind it, because they are the largest body of independent, checkable feedback. We read publicly available information, reviewed third-party platforms including BBB and Trustpilot, and linked every figure to its source so you can trace the composite yourself.

We publish this page, so we include ourselves, and we rank first on this method because of a 4.7 Trustpilot score across 243 verified reviews across 243 reviews and a pure merchant cash advance focus since 2016. That is a position, not a neutral fact. The disclosure at the top says so plainly, and the weights below are published so you can weigh them yourself.

Verified review score & volume, 65%

Google and Trustpilot ratings combined, then weighted by how many reviews stand behind them. A strong score across hundreds of reviews counts for far more than a high score from a handful, and being present on both platforms counts more than one. This is the largest body of independent, checkable feedback, so it carries the most weight. Fewer than about ten reviews is treated as unproven.

MCA specialization, 12%

Whether merchant cash advance settlement is the core practice or one service among many.

Track record and tenure, 5%

Years operating, weighted toward MCA-specific experience.

U.S. availability, 5%

Whether a U.S. business owner with an MCA can actually hire the firm. Canadian insolvency and consumer-only firms are moved to a separate section.

BBB standing, 13%

Letter grade and accreditation. One input, not the whole score. An F grade caps a firm near the bottom.

Firms that have ceased operations are placed at the bottom of the active ranking regardless of their historical scores, because they can no longer take on new clients.

What this score does and does not measure. It measures how a firm presents on the public record today: review volume and rating across Google and Trustpilot, BBB standing, whether MCA settlement is a firm’s core practice, how long it has operated, and whether a U.S. business owner can actually hire it. It does not measure, and cannot measure, the outcome you would get if you hired any firm on this list. No public data source reports client-by-client settlement results, so no comparison page, including this one, can honestly score for outcomes. Third-party ratings and review counts change over time as new reviews post and platforms recalculate, so treat every figure on this page as a dated snapshot rather than a live feed. The figures were checked on September 2, 2026 (see the disclosure below); always confirm anything time-sensitive against the linked source before you decide.

A five-minute check before you hire any firm

These checks apply to any company you are considering, on this list or off it. We are not naming names here; run this against whoever you are evaluating, us included.

  • Look up the company’s exact legal or trading name in its state’s Secretary of State or Division of Corporations business-entity search, and confirm the entity is active, not dissolved or administratively revoked.
  • Compare the address on the company’s own website against its BBB profile and its Google Business Profile. A mismatch, a mail-drop address, or a different address on each source is a reason to ask more questions before signing anything.
  • Check how long the BBB file has existed against how long the company claims to have been in business. A BBB file opened recently for a company that markets decades of history is worth a direct question.
  • Weigh review count against company age. A handful of reviews after many years in business, or hundreds of reviews within the first year, are both patterns worth a second look.
  • Confirm whether the firm has a claimed Google Business Profile at all. An unclaimed or missing profile is not disqualifying on its own, but it removes one of the few timestamped, checkable public records most legitimate local businesses build up.

Each firm, in detail

What they do, what the public record shows, and where each model falls short. Every figure links to its source.

Business Debt Adjusters Top pick

4.7
Composite

One of the longest-running MCA settlement practices in New Jersey, working these cases since 2016. Each funder is contacted directly and the principal balance is negotiated down rather than the payment simply being restructured. Daily and weekly debits stop, the remaining balance folds into one affordable monthly payment, and an attorney handles any confession of judgment, UCC lien, or lawsuit that follows.

Pros
  • Reduces the principal owed, not just the payment schedule
  • Litigation defense included: confessions of judgment, liens, and funder suits
  • Daily debits stop within days of enrolling
  • No new debt and no bankruptcy filing
  • Fee structure stated in writing before you sign
Cons
  • Funder relationships end, so no new advances from them
  • Some funders escalate to litigation before settling
  • Requires disciplined monthly payments over the term
  • Not the cheapest option if you only carry one advance

Frequently asked questions

Is this comparison biased toward Business Debt Adjusters?

We wrote it, so read it with that in mind. What keeps it honest is that every rating on this page comes from a public source you can check, with BBB profiles and Trustpilot pages linked in every row. We also included competitors whose current headline BBB grades are better than ours rather than leaving them out. Our case is not that every number favors us. It is that on the things that matter for MCA debt specifically, specialization, verifiable track record, and transparency, we hold up very well.

What should an MCA debt relief company never promise you?

A guaranteed outcome or a specific savings percentage. Settlement results depend on your contracts, your funders, your revenue, and how far behind you are, none of which a salesperson knows before reviewing your file. Anyone guaranteeing that they will cut your debt by a fixed percentage is telling you what you want to hear. A credible firm explains its process, shows you its public record, and makes no promises about results.

Does BBB accreditation matter when choosing a debt relief firm?

Accreditation and the letter rating are two different things. Accreditation is a program a business applies for and pays dues to maintain. The letter rating is assigned by BBB whether or not the business is accredited. Business Debt Adjusters is not currently BBB accredited, and our current BBB rating is A- (we are pursuing accreditation; the letter rating is what BBB assigns regardless, and we work to resolve complaints promptly), both of which we link on this page so you can read the profile yourself. Check both fields for any firm you consider, and read the underlying complaints rather than stopping at the letter.

How is MCA debt relief different from consumer debt relief?

Consumer debt relief companies such as National Debt Relief work on personal debts like credit cards and personal loans. Merchant cash advance debt is a business obligation with different mechanics: daily or weekly debits, factor rates instead of interest, UCC liens, personal guarantees, and in some cases confessions of judgment. Settling it means negotiating with commercial funders under commercial practices. That is why the comparison above separates MCA specialists from generalist and consumer firms.

Who are the best MCA debt relief companies?

The firms ranked highest on this page are Business Debt Adjusters, Coastal Debt Resolve and Creditors Relief, in that order, scored against the published method above rather than by who paid for placement. Business Debt Adjusters publishes this comparison and ranks itself first, which is disclosed at the top of the page and again in the footer. Every score is built from public records, and the BBB or Trustpilot profile behind each figure is linked in the firm row so it can be checked directly. Best here is a judgment about fit rather than a fact, because a firm suited to one large advance may be the wrong choice for a stack of five.

Are MCA settlement companies legitimate?

Some are, and the difference shows up in the public record rather than on the sales call. Credible firms put the fee structure in writing before enrollment, turn down files they cannot help, name the people who will run the negotiation, and leave a checkable trail on BBB, Trustpilot and state business registries. The reliable warning signs are the mirror image: a fee collected before any work is done, a guaranteed savings figure, pressure to stop paying funders immediately, and no verifiable business address. Every firm compared here links to its own public sources so that check takes minutes.

What is the difference between an MCA settlement company and an MCA debt relief company?

In practice the two labels describe the same market, and the difference is scope rather than substance. Settlement names one specific tactic, negotiating a balance down to a reduced payoff, while debt relief is the umbrella that also covers restructuring the remittance schedule, consolidating positions, and advising when none of those fit. Most of the firms compared on this page sell under both terms, which is why they are ranked together here. When you compare quotes, compare the scope of work described in the agreement rather than the phrase used on the website.

What do MCA debt relief reviews actually tell you?

Reviews tell you about the sales experience far more reliably than about settlement outcomes. Many are written in the first weeks of a program, before any funder has agreed to anything, so a high average can measure responsiveness and clarity rather than results. The more useful signals sit underneath the score: complaint volume and complaint type on BBB, whether the firm answers negative reviews, how old the profile is, and whether review counts jumped suddenly. This page links the underlying BBB and Trustpilot profile for every firm so those details can be read directly instead of taken from an average.

If your debt is broader than merchant cash advances, the wider buyer's guide to how to compare business debt settlement companies covers the same ground across all commercial creditors.
