First Choice Debt Solutions Review (2026): Ratings & How It Compares

First Choice Debt Solutions Reviews · 2026
First Choice Debt Solutions is a Staten Island, New York firm that markets merchant cash advance restructuring and business debt relief to small businesses. Its Better Business Bureau file records the business as starting in August 2018.
Where First Choice Debt Solutions lands in our 2026 ranking
First Choice Debt Solutions scores 2.8 out of 5 and ranks 14th of the 14 U.S. merchant cash advance settlement firms we score. That placement is driven almost entirely by one thing, and it is worth understanding before you read it as a verdict on their service.
Our methodology puts 65% of the composite on verified review score and volume, and treats fewer than about ten reviews as unproven. First Choice Debt Solutions has two Trustpilot reviews and no claimed Google Business Profile. There is almost no independent, checkable feedback on them in either direction. Under a methodology weighted that heavily toward public evidence, a firm with no public evidence cannot score well, however good its service may actually be.
They do better on the components we can assess. Their BBB file carries an A+ letter grade with zero complaints, merchant cash advance restructuring is their core practice rather than a sideline, and they have been operating since 2018. Those lift the score; they cannot outweigh a 65% component with almost nothing behind it.
Read 2.8 as unproven and inconsistently presented, not as proven bad. The distinction matters, and the sections below give you the record so you can judge it yourself.
Which “First Choice” are you actually looking at?
This is the single biggest source of confusion around this company, and it matters because the two firms have very different records.
First Choice Debt Solutions (firstchoicedebtsolutions.org) is the Staten Island business-debt firm this page is about. First Choice Debt Relief (firstchoicedebtrelief.com) is a completely separate and unrelated company based in Irvine, California that works on consumer debt — credit cards, personal loans, medical bills. First Choice Debt Relief is BBB-accredited with an A+ rating and holds a 4.9 rating from more than 800 Trustpilot reviews. It has a strong public record and nothing on this page reflects on it in any way.
The problem is that searching either name surfaces both, and a business owner researching the Staten Island firm can easily land on the other company's several hundred five-star reviews and believe they belong to the firm about to debit their bank account. If you are comparing firms, check the domain and the city before you trust a rating.
A third result adds to the confusion: Google's business panel for this search shows an entry named First Choice Debt & Credit Solutions at 86-52 Woodhaven Boulevard in Queens, marked permanently closed. That is a different name at a different address from anything First Choice Debt Solutions publishes, and the listing is unclaimed. It should not be read as evidence that the Staten Island firm has shut down — see the questions section below.
What the public reviews actually say
There is one substantive customer review of this firm in public circulation. It was posted on 17 July 2025 to both Yelp and Trustpilot by the same reviewer, and on Yelp it carries the “First to Review” badge.
The reviewer's central complaint is about cost and duration: they write that the estimated program cost and length used to enroll them would triple in time and amount
, and state they expect to repay their creditors in full plus roughly 25 percent again in fees to the firm. They also say the firm did not reduce any of their balances, and that leaving the program before all fees were paid was not practical.
One review is one person's experience and we present it as exactly that. We flag it because it is currently the majority of this company's public feedback, because it is specific rather than vague, and because Trustpilot itself notes the company has not replied to negative reviews.
On the other side of the ledger, and in fairness: the firm's BBB file records zero complaints. For a debt-relief company that is a genuinely clean record and it deserves to be said plainly. The caveat is that the BBB file was only opened in April 2024 and BBB ratings are driven largely by complaint volume and response, so a young file with no complaints will rate well regardless of how a program actually performs.
Inconsistencies in their published information
Anyone can check each of these in a few minutes. We list them because a firm that asks for bank account access and a personal guarantee should be able to state its own address and phone number consistently.
Two different addresses on their own website
The footer and contact page of firstchoicedebtsolutions.org give 3009 Arthur Kill Road, Staten Island NY 10309. The notice provision in their own Terms of Service gives 3015 Arthur Kill Road. Their BBB filing also says 3015. Two addresses, one website.
Six addresses across platforms
Their site says Arthur Kill Road in Staten Island. Their BBB profile says Arthur Kill Road, Staten Island, at the other street number. Their Yelp listing says Somerville, New Jersey. Their Alignable profile says New York, New York. Their Facebook page says Staten Island. Google's panel points to Woodhaven Boulevard, Queens.
Five phone numbers, one of them a placeholder
The site publishes a toll-free 888 number. Their contact page also displays “Call Us: 000-222-9090”, an unedited template placeholder sitting live in production. Their BBB file carries a Dallas, Texas area code. Yelp lists a different toll-free 877 number. Facebook lists a Washington, DC area code.
Their Terms of Service misspell their own domain
The agreement governing use of their website refers twice to “www.firstcoicedebtsolutions.org” — missing a letter — and the hyperlink on that text points to a .com address that is not their site. The same document opens by describing the parties as “First Choice Debt Solutions, d/b/a First Choice Debt Solutions”, a template field that was never filled in.
A founding date that does not match the filing
Their marketing describes the company as established in 2016. Their BBB record lists the business as started 4 August 2018.
None of this proves anything about how they treat clients. It does tell you how carefully their public-facing material is maintained, and it is reasonable to ask whether the paperwork you sign gets more attention than the website does.
What a business owner should verify first
This applies to us as much as to them. Ask any firm you are considering, in writing:
Exactly which legal entity am I contracting with, and which entity receives my payments? If the company taking your money has a different name from the company on the front page of your agreement, get both names, look up both registrations, and understand who you would pursue if something went wrong.
What is my total cost in dollars, not percentages? Add every fee: the program fee, any success or settlement fee, weekly or monthly administrative charges, legal-plan charges and card surcharges. Ask for one number. If a firm cannot state your all-in cost in dollars, that is your answer.
Is your fee earned if my balances are not reduced? Some agreements treat a lower monthly payment as a successful result even when the principal owed does not fall at all. Ask specifically whether stretching your term earns the full fee.
Am I personally guaranteeing anything? Merchant cash advance debt is often a business obligation. Confirm in writing whether you are signing individually as well as for the company.
What can you do to me if I stop paying you? Ask whether the firm reserves the right to file liens, pursue your accounts, or report you. Read that clause before you sign, not after.

First Choice Debt Solutions reviews: common questions
Is First Choice Debt Solutions out of business?
It does not appear to be. Google surfaces a listing named First Choice Debt & Credit Solutions in Queens marked permanently closed, but that is a different company name at an address First Choice Debt Solutions does not publish, and the listing is unclaimed. The firm's own website carries a current copyright, operates a live client portal and publishes an active toll-free number. Treat the closed Google listing as a separate or stale record rather than evidence the company has shut down.
Is First Choice Debt Solutions the same company as First Choice Debt Relief?
No. They are unrelated businesses. First Choice Debt Solutions is a business-debt firm in Staten Island, New York. First Choice Debt Relief is a consumer-debt company in Irvine, California that is BBB-accredited with an A+ rating and holds a 4.9 rating from over 800 Trustpilot reviews. If you are reading strong reviews, check which domain and which city they belong to.
Is First Choice Debt Solutions legitimate?
They are an operating company with a real website, a Better Business Bureau file carrying an A+ rating and zero complaints, and an active client portal. We found no lawsuits or regulatory actions against them in public records. What we cannot tell you is how their program performs, because with three public reviews in total there is not enough evidence to judge. Verify their entity details, get your total cost in dollars in writing, and read the termination clause before signing.
Why does First Choice Debt Solutions score 2.8 out of 5?
Because 65% of our composite is verified review score and volume, and they have two Trustpilot reviews and no claimed Google Business Profile. Our methodology treats fewer than about ten reviews as unproven, so that component scores 2.0 and caps the total. They score well on the rest: 4.0 for an A+ BBB grade with zero complaints, 4.6 because merchant cash advance work is their core practice, 3.5 for operating since 2018 and 5.0 for U.S. availability. The weighted result is 2.8, which places them 14th of the 14 U.S. MCA settlement firms we score. It reflects an absence of public evidence, not proof of poor service.
What is First Choice Debt Solutions' BBB rating?
The Better Business Bureau lists an A+ rating with zero complaints on file. Importantly, the company is not BBB accredited — an A+ rating and accreditation are different things. The file was opened in April 2024 and records the business as starting in August 2018.
