Short answer
The LCF Group, Inc. is a merchant cash advance company in New Hyde Park, New York, incorporated in 2011 as Last Chance Funding Inc. It advertises advances from $2,000 to $2 million with daily or weekly payments. Its BBB rating is A+, but it is not BBB accredited, and the BBB shows 42 complaints in the last three years. In September 2026, Connecticut's banking regulator entered a consent order over 74 agreements it alleged the company made there before registering. A June 2026 petition by the New York Attorney General against an arbitration platform alleges that LCF helped write that platform's rules; LCF is not a party to that case. Federal docket listings show 32 cases naming the company as a defendant, respondent or appellee since 2017, most of them closed. If the payments no longer fit your revenue, the terms of your agreement decide your options.

This page summarizes the public record as of October 26, 2026: the company's BBB profile and listings, New York Department of State records, Connecticut and New York regulatory filings, federal docket listings on CourtListener and the company's website. We found no action by California's financial regulator or the Federal Trade Commission, which is not proof that none exists.
Last Chance Funding is now The LCF Group
If your paperwork says Last Chance Funding Inc. of New Hyde Park or Lake Success, New York, it is the same company. New York records show one corporation, DOS ID 4055157, first filed on 2/14/2011 as Last Chance Funding Inc.; a certificate of amendment filed on 5/27/2021 changed its name to The LCF Group, Inc. The old address lastchancefunding.com forwards to thelcfgroup.com, and court filings caption the company "The LCF Group f/k/a Last Chance Funding, Inc." Our older pages on the company use the old name: the Last Chance Funding review, sued by Last Chance Funding and Last Chance Funding settlement pages.
Its website calls Reliant Funding "our premier funding arm," and the Connecticut order names the company The LCF Group, Inc. d/b/a LCF d/b/a Reliant Funding. The BBB's separate Reliant Funding profile, at the same address, is rated C minus for failure to respond to 3 complaints.
What The LCF Group sells
LCF sells one product, which its website calls both a merchant cash advance and revenue-based financing: cash up front through "a purchase of future receivables," repaid from revenue. Its FAQ says:
Size and minimums.
"We offer deals ranging from $2K to $2 Million," for businesses with at least 90 days in business, a business checking account open 90 days (120 days in California and New York) and $6,000 a month in revenue. There is no minimum credit score, and prior defaults "can still be considered."
Payments.
"Our terms are daily or weekly payments," with "no set term for an advance."
Adjustments.
"If your revenue drops, your payment may be eligible for reconciliation," requested through its online portal.
Payoff and more funding.
No charge to pay early, a possible discount within the first 30 days, and additional funding "while you're still paying."
Confessions of judgment.
"For New York deals, a COJ may be waivable depending on the deal and underwriting."
These are the company's statements, and we have not verified them.

Six displayed complaints, all from 2026, say LCF's collection calls kept reaching people about accounts that were not theirs; each time, the company said the number had been linked to the wrong record and removed it or put it on its Do Not Call list. Several dispute fees after a missed payment: in one, the company said a default fee "appears to have been proper" but reversed it; in another, about a $2,500 default fee and a $1,417.66 legal fee, it said "the BBB complaint process is not the appropriate forum" to renegotiate a settlement. At least 12 mention UCC filings or liens. The BBB does not decide who is right, and neither do we.
The regulatory record
Connecticut, September 2026. Connecticut required commercial financing providers to register by October 1, 2024. In a consent order issued September 9, 2026, the Banking Commissioner alleged that between October 1, 2024 and June 12, 2025 the company "entered into seventy-four (74) commercial financing agreements without the required registration." Its registration was approved June 12, 2025. Without admitting or denying the allegation, the company agreed to pay a $10,000 civil penalty and $1,000 in back registration fees. The order "does not contain any findings of fact or conclusions of law," and the investigation did not identify any harm.
New York, June 2026. The New York Attorney General filed a petition in New York County Supreme Court (Index No. 452192/2026) against Mediation and Civil Arbitration, Inc., which does business as RapidRuling, and its founders. LCF is not a party. It alleges that the platform was created in coordination with "non-party LCF Group, Inc., f/k/a Last Chance Funding, Inc." after a 2019 law barred New York confessions of judgment against out-of-state businesses, that LCF drafted and edited its rules, and that LCF filed over 2,500 arbitrations there from March 2020 through March 2023 before stopping in 2024. These are allegations in a case against other parties. Background: our pages on confessions of judgment and on LCF's collection counsel, the Feldman Law Firm.
The court record
A CourtListener search finds "LCF Group" in the text of 179 federal dockets and "Last Chance Funding" in the text of 128, including the cases below. Most of the rest are bankruptcy cases and suits the company itself brought. That shows LCF advances turn up in many bankruptcies; it does not show wrongdoing. Thirty-two captioned cases name the company, under either name, as a defendant, respondent or appellee. Allegations are not findings.
Mazzoni Center v. LCF Group, Inc., No. 2:24-cv-05921 (E.D. Pa.), filed November 5, 2024, is the most detailed. A Philadelphia nonprofit claimed its LCF agreement was a usurious loan. The court's opinion describes it: a $250,000 purchase price less $15,430 in fees, for 12 percent of receipts until $362,500 was paid, estimated at $6,041.67 a day. The court denied the motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction at a November 12, 2024 hearing and gave its reasons in a November 18 memorandum: the plaintiffs had not shown they were likely to succeed. That was a preliminary ruling, not a decision on the merits. The center dismissed the case without prejudice on November 27, 2024.
The co-defendant in that case was AKF, Inc. d/b/a FundKite, whose agreement with the center the same opinion describes: $479,815 paid, after $20,185 in fees, for 9 percent of receivables until $690,000 was collected. Our FundKite record page covers that company's BBB file, the Rapid Ruling awards the Attorney General's petition attributes to it, and the federal cases that name it.

Who The LCF Group fits
LCF is built for businesses banks turn down, and that access comes with daily or weekly debits; more funding while an advance is unpaid adds another debit. Before you sign, ask in writing for the total payback, the payment schedule, the default and legal fees, and whether there is a confession of judgment, an arbitration clause or a personal guaranty. The MCA calculator converts a factor rate into a comparable cost; our page on MCA stacking explains stacked positions.
If the payments are more than your business can carry
- Collect every agreement, renewal and settlement you signed with LCF, Last Chance Funding or Reliant Funding, with the payment history for each.
- Check for a personal guaranty, a reconciliation clause, a confession of judgment and an arbitration clause.
- Request reconciliation in writing if revenue has dropped. Our explainer on MCA reconciliation covers what to look for.
- Blocking debits or moving your account can be treated as a default under many agreements; check your contract before acting. Our guide on stopping daily MCA payments explains the risks.
- If you settle, get the schedule, the payoff amount and the date the debits stop in writing.
- Check your paperwork and court notices for deadlines.
- If you are weighing bankruptcy, read MCA settlement vs. bankruptcy first.
Business Debt Adjusters negotiates MCA debt relief for businesses carrying merchant cash advances; how it works explains the process. If you are behind or close to it, talk to Business Debt Adjusters about your agreements before you miss a payment.
