Federated Law Group: Who They Are and What to Do If They Contact You About a Business Balance
Federated Law Group, PLLC is a Juno Beach, Florida collection law firm that appears in more than 100 federal dockets through 2025 as counsel or notice address for creditors, including the debt buyer Cach, LLC, the business lender On Deck Capital and the collection agency Sequium Asset Solutions. It is not a funder and not a lender. Directory listings describe a firm practising collection law in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Louisiana, Utah, Virginia and Puerto Rico on credit card, consumer, student, business and personal-guarantee loans; its website did not load on September 24, 2026 and the BBB has no profile for it. An earlier version of this page described Federated Law Group as an MCA funder and quoted factor rates for it. That was wrong and has been removed. If a Federated letter has reached you, a creditor placed the account with it, and the paperwork behind that account decides what happens next.
What Federated Law Group is
Federated Law Group, PLLC, 887 Donald Ross Road, Juno Beach, Florida 33408 (court filings also give Suite 555 and a North Palm Beach postal address), phone (800) 217-1685, website federatedlaw.com. Directory listings on Martindale, Lawyers.com and LinkedIn describe a firm that specialises in all areas of collection law, practising in Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Louisiana, Utah, Virginia and Puerto Rico, pursuing credit card debt, consumer loans, student loans, business loans, commercial lines of credit, personal guarantee loans and insurance subrogation, from file placement to post-judgment execution. Inc. magazine listed it as a 2016 Inc. 5000 honoree. Bankruptcy notices name Bryan Manno, Esq. at the firm. On September 24, 2026 the firm's website did not respond and the Better Business Bureau returned no profile under the name; a 2019 post indexed from the firm's Facebook page said its files were being transferred to another Florida law firm, Andreu Palma Lavin and Solis, which we could not open to confirm. Treat the firm's current status as unverified: if a letter carries this name, check the letterhead for the firm actually sending it.
What it is not: a funder, a lender or a merchant cash advance provider. There is no Federated advance, no factor rate and no reconciliation clause of its own. If our earlier page led you to expect any of those, disregard it.
Where it appears in the court record
- Counsel and notice address for creditors. CourtListener returns 108 dockets for the name, nearly all bankruptcy cases through 2025 where the firm appears on creditor schedules or as the c/o address: Cach, LLC c/o Federated Law Group, Attn: Bryan Manno, Esq. (Bankr. N.D. Fla. 23-30416, 2023); On Deck Capital c/o Federated Law Group (VideoMining Corporation, Bankr. W.D. Pa. 20-20425, 2020); and entries in Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania consumer and business cases through Rami Alzeideh (Bankr. M.D. Fla. 6:25-bk-06171, September 2025). On Deck Capital is a business lender, which is the closest the record comes to a merchant cash advance connection.
- Appellate substitution. In Velez-Aguilar v. Sequium Asset Solutions (3d Cir. 22-1109, 2022) the firm was substituted as counsel for the collection agency, a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act appeal.
- Only one docket dates from 2024 or later, which is consistent with a wind-down or transfer of files rather than an active volume practice.
No regulatory action or disciplinary record against the firm was located in the sources checked.
Why a business owner hears from Federated
Because a creditor, most often a debt buyer or a business lender, placed the account with it for suit or collection. The firm is the creditor's counsel; the agreement, the payment history, the personal guaranty and any UCC filing belong to the creditor, and that paperwork decides what can be argued. Given the firm's uncertain status, the first question is who is writing to you now and on whose behalf.
What to establish from your own paperwork
- Who is actually writing, and for whom. Ask in writing, at 887 Donald Ross Road, Juno Beach, FL 33408, or at whatever address the letter gives, for the sending firm's legal name and Florida Bar attorney, the creditor's name, the agreement date, the amounts advanced and payable, every payment credited and the balance claimed.
- Whether the account was sold. Debt buyers such as Cach, LLC buy charged-off accounts; ask for the assignment showing the account passed to the party now claiming it.
- Whether a suit or judgment already exists, and where. Search Florida and your own state's court records for the business name and the guarantor's name. If a summons exists, the answer deadline runs from service, usually 20 or 30 days.
- Whether the FDCPA applies. A merchant cash advance or business loan is a commercial transaction, so the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act generally does not apply. Florida's consumer collection practices act, attorney conduct rules and the general prohibitions on misrepresentation still do, and a personal guaranty can bring the owner's own protections into play.
- The reconciliation clause and guaranty (MCA balances). See how MCA debt relief works.
If a lawsuit has been filed
The plaintiff will be the creditor or the debt buyer, with the firm as counsel. Answer before the deadline; a default judgment ends the negotiation. See what to do if a creditor represented by Federated Law Group sues.
Can the balance be settled?
Usually, if the underlying account is real and the party claiming it can prove ownership. Placed and purchased balances settle within limits the creditor sets, and a documented hardship, bank statements and a realistic lump sum or schedule tend to be heard; get the settlement and release in writing from the party that owns the account. Frequently Asked Questions
Is Federated Law Group a merchant cash advance company?
No. Federated Law Group, PLLC is a Juno Beach, Florida collection law firm that has represented debt buyers, business lenders such as On Deck Capital and collection agencies. It does not fund advances or loans.
Is Federated Law Group still operating?
Its website did not load and the BBB had no profile on September 24, 2026, and only one federal docket since 2024 mentions it. A 2019 post indexed from its Facebook page referred to files being transferred to another firm. If a letter carries the name, confirm the sending firm and its attorney in writing before discussing any balance.
Why is Federated Law Group contacting my business?
A creditor, most often a debt buyer or business lender, placed the account with it for collection or suit. Find out which creditor, which agreement and whether a suit already exists before responding by phone.
Does the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act apply to a business account a law firm is collecting?
Generally no, because merchant cash advances and business loans are commercial transactions. Florida collection law, attorney conduct rules and the general prohibitions on misrepresentation still apply, and a personal guaranty can bring the owner's own protections into play.
What should a business owner do after a letter from Federated Law Group?
Confirm who is writing and for whom, request an itemised balance and any assignment in writing, search Florida and home-state court records for a filed case, pull the guaranty and any reconciliation clause, and get the paperwork reviewed before agreeing to a number or missing an answer deadline.
