Dedicated Commercial Recovery: Who They Are and What to Do If They Contact You About an MCA Balance

Dedicated Commercial Recovery, Inc., now trading as Dedicated Financial GBC, is a Shoreview, Minnesota commercial collection agency, started in January 2015, that collects only commercial debt and says on its own site that it handles merchant cash advance collections from early-stage re-engagement through third-party collections, UCC lien enforcement, legal and post-judgment recovery, and that it has been in the MCA space since day one. It is not a funder and not a lender. It is BBB accredited since 2018 with an A+ rating and 4 complaints in three years. An earlier version of this page described Dedicated as an MCA funder and quoted factor rates for it. That was wrong and has been removed. If this agency is contacting you, a funder has placed your advance with it, and the paperwork behind that advance decides what happens next.

What Dedicated is

Dedicated Financial GBC (dedicatedgbc.com), 4000 Lexington Avenue North, Suite 125, Shoreview, Minnesota 55126, phone (651) 447-5253, hello@dedicatedgbc.com. The company's LinkedIn page is still registered as Dedicated Commercial Recovery, Inc., the name on our earlier page. The site describes a full-service commercial debt collection agency, licensed to collect in all 50 states, with a 100 percent stateside team, a rapport-based model, no dialers and no call spoofing, and a stated mission of being a force for good in collections. Services listed: first-party portfolio servicing, commercial debt collections with dedicated pages for merchant cash advance, revenue-based finance and equipment finance collections, UCC lien enforcement, repossessions and recovery, remarketing of recovered equipment, and legal and bankruptcy services. The footer carries Nevada collection agency and manager licence numbers and names Shawn Smith, the CEO.

The Better Business Bureau lists Dedicated Financial GBC at the Shoreview address under collections agencies: BBB accredited since February 16, 2018, rated A+, business started and incorporated January 10, 2015, BBB file opened May 10, 2016, CEO Shawn Smith, with 4 complaints in the last three years and 2 closed in the last twelve months (checked September 24, 2026). The site also claims more than 2,000 five-star Google reviews; we have not verified that count.

What it is not: a funder, a lender or a merchant cash advance provider. There is no Dedicated advance, no factor rate and no reconciliation clause of its own. If our earlier page led you to expect any of those, disregard it.

What it says about merchant cash advance collections

The agency's MCA page is unusually direct about its role. It says MCA collections are a different animal, that it manages recovery from start to finish (early-stage collections and re-engagement, third-party collections, legal and enforcement support, post-judgment collections), that it understands daily versus weekly payment structures and how defaults actually behave, that it has been in the MCA space since day one and is the only collection agency actively involved in all major lobbying groups for the industry, and that when escalation is necessary it moves quickly with a legal strategy built specifically for MCA enforcement. A testimonial on the page is attributed to the CEO of an MCA funder. Its UCC lien enforcement service is the mechanism by which a funder's security interest is asserted against a merchant's receivables and processors.

Read from the merchant's side, that means a call from Dedicated usually comes early after a missed debit, before a suit, and that the agency's stated preference is to structure a solution that gets the account performing again. That is a negotiating window, not a courtesy.

Where it appears in the court record

CourtListener returns 71 federal dockets mentioning Dedicated Commercial Recovery or Dedicated Financial GBC, almost all of them bankruptcy cases filed by small businesses and their owners from 2025 to 2026 in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Kansas, North Carolina, Alabama and elsewhere, where the agency appears on the creditor schedule or notice list, sometimes as the c/o address for a funder: for example Select Funding LLC, c/o Dedicated Financial GBC, in Nathan Slocum (Bankr. W.D. Pa. 26-10013, 2026). Select Funding is profiled on this site. The agency is also named in Kids First Pediatric Therapy v. The Fundworks, LLC (Bankr. C.D. Cal., 2026), an adversary proceeding involving an MCA funder, and in a 2025 Fair Credit Reporting Act complaint against Trans Union (E.D.N.Y. 2:25-cv-06226) as a subscriber that receives credit reports. That is what an agency holding placed MCA accounts looks like in the record: the funder sues in its own name, the agency collects and appears on the creditor lists. No regulatory action against the agency was located in the sources checked.

Why a business owner hears from Dedicated

Because a funder or equipment lender has placed a defaulted or disputed account with it. The agency is the creditor's agent; the agreement, the debit history, the personal guaranty and any UCC filing belong to the creditor, and that paperwork decides what can be argued. Because the agency advertises UCC lien enforcement, a notice to your card processor or customers can follow if the account is not resolved.

What to establish from your own paperwork

If a lawsuit has been filed

The plaintiff will be the funder, not the agency, and the summons will name the funder. Answer before the deadline, usually 20 to 30 days from service; a default judgment ends the negotiation. See what to do if a funder represented through Dedicated sues.

Can the balance be settled?

Usually, if the underlying advance is real. This agency says its aim is to structure solutions that get accounts performing again, which is the language of payment plans and settlements; placed MCA balances settle within limits the funder sets, and a documented revenue drop, bank statements and a realistic lump sum or schedule tend to be heard. Get the funder's sign-off in writing. See how a balance Dedicated is collecting can be settled.

Business Debt Adjusters reviews the agreement, the debit history and any UCC or court filings, and tells you what is realistic before you commit to anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dedicated Commercial Recovery a merchant cash advance company?

No. Dedicated Commercial Recovery, Inc., now Dedicated Financial GBC, is a Shoreview, Minnesota commercial collection agency that collects for MCA funders, revenue-based financiers and equipment lenders. Its own site says it has been in the MCA space since day one as a collector. It does not fund advances or loans.

Is Dedicated Commercial Recovery legitimate?

It is a Minnesota corporation started in 2015, BBB accredited since 2018 with an A+ rating and 4 complaints in three years, licensed to collect in all 50 states by its own account, with published Nevada licence numbers. Legitimate does not mean the balance claimed is correct; ask for the funder's name and an itemised account in writing.

Why is Dedicated contacting my business?

A merchant cash advance funder or equipment lender has placed your account with it, usually early after a missed payment. Find out which creditor, which agreement and what balance before responding by phone, and ask whether a UCC notice has been sent to your processor.

Does the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act apply to an MCA balance Dedicated is collecting?

Generally no, because a merchant cash advance is a commercial transaction. State collection licensing rules and the general prohibitions on harassment and misrepresentation still apply, and a personal guaranty can bring the owner's own protections into play.

What should a business owner do after a call or letter from Dedicated?

Identify the funder and the agreement, request an itemised balance in writing, ask about any UCC notice, pull the reconciliation clause and the guaranty, and get the paperwork reviewed before agreeing to a number; the agency's own model favours structured resolutions, so a documented counter-offer has a hearing.
